How We Review Companions
18+ · Every illustrated character here is an AI-generated adult. No real people are depicted in these scenes. Provider-page screenshots are separately captioned.
We compare public evidence so adults can understand a service before paying. Our eight criteria are applied consistently across CandyAI, LoveScape, GoLove, JoiAI and CrushOnAI. We revisited official interfaces and published tariff records through the Codex browser on 7 October 2026. We did not create accounts, buy plans or record private chat sessions. Official selector values, attributed provider features and dated independent reports are identified separately, without fabricated conversation-quality scores.
Eight checks for an AI girlfriend app
Character control asks whether public documentation describes selection, persona creation or editable attributes. Conversation options records documented text, voice and call categories. Memory records claims about persistence without assuming they are measured. Media tools distinguishes still images, video and activity-specific balances. Adult-content boundaries records the relevant edition and published restrictions. Device access separates browser, home-screen shortcut and verified native distribution. Payment clarity records currency, full billing term, renewal and extra consumption. Privacy information checks whether accessible policy language describes handling and deletion; it does not certify implementation.
We give these checks equal attention rather than applying hidden numerical weights. They are eight purchase and access questions. Current official selectors establish prices when visible; dated independent tariff captures can supply an attributed budget reference when sign-in precedes the purchase screen. We name the source and date. Features follow the current interface or provider documentation, and a newly available tool supersedes older coming-soon copy.
When a numerical companion score would be earned
A future measured score would use a published rubric: an 8 would require repeatable evidence that the criterion works consistently with clear limitations; a 5 would mean partial achievement with a significant observed constraint. Conversation, latency and memory scores would require recorded sessions, dates, plan details and raw results. We have none for this release, so no product receives such a score.
If we later introduce weights, they will be published before the numbers. A price-documentation score would not measure emotional realism, memory persistence or private conversation quality. Our five-service hub currently supplies facts and attributed descriptions. No independent reviewer’s account test is presented as our own, and no editorial illustration stands in for a product-output benchmark.
Why our first recommendation is CandyAI
CandyAI earns the first shortlist position for a specific documented workflow: custom companion controls, visual media, browser access and a captured subscription panel. Its limits remain important: tokens are distinct from the subscription, and a home-screen shortcut is not a native app. This is a public-evidence recommendation for an undecided reader, not proof that its private conversations outperform every alternative.
CrushOnAI keeps its roleplay strength, LoveScape its creative-tool direction, GoLove its companion-discovery route and JoiAI its activity-level cost documentation. Their full reviews compare the same questions. Read the CandyAI verdict or CrushOnAI alternative when those workflows match your priority.
How we handle sources and illustrations
Provider pages can document a price or describe a feature, but they are interested sources. We record dates, preserve original public-page captures where accessible and distinguish a claim from an observed interface value. A blocked page does not prove an absent product. We never create a fake session or use an attractive illustration as a test result.
Every character illustration here depicts an AI-generated adult; no real people are depicted in those scenes. Provider-page screenshots are separately captioned source records. Our AI and media policy explains that difference, while the publication page describes what this review site does.
What a refresh must recheck
A review refresh must recheck access routes, full billing periods and renewal amounts, balances and activity charges, edition rules, conflicting documentation and the provider’s policy language. The visible checked date and modification date must change when those checks change the article. An old screenshot remains dated rather than silently presented as a new observation.
Send a source-based correction through our contact page. Include the statement, page and current official evidence. We can assess a documented correction more usefully than an unsupported general claim that a service is better or worse.
